Not POSH, not COCKNEY . Estuary English and its sociological context.



/tʃ/
/ʔ/ instead of /t/ which is more R.P.
/h/ "Sometimes" not pronounced at the beginning of words
/r/ Not pronounced in endings.
"th"/θ/ is "sometimes" performed as /f/


Cockney : Belonging to "working class people", sometimes faces projudice in working contexts.
R.P. Conservative or "posh"English, used by elderly people and "high class people".
Estuary : South of England, intermediate accent between cockney and R.P.
